Standing
Posted on January 18, 2008 in the blackjack category
Once the initial deal is complete, the player has several options. One of those options is to “stand,” or stay put when satisfied with the total of his cards. To “stand” or “stay” means to not take additional cards, whether that occurs after the initial deal or after several cards have been drawn. In handheld games, a player desiring to stand simply takes his initial two cards and slides them, facedown, beneath his wager. In shoe games, a quick shake of the hand in a back-and-forth motion signifies to the dealer that no additional cards are desired
